Welcome, we appreciate your interest in learning more about our neighborhood. White Oak Cliffs is a residential development of approximately 120 lots located on the southernmost shores of beautiful Lake Keowee. White Oak Cliffs was one of the first residential areas developed on the lake, having originally opened in 1971 and is the work of S. Bruce Rochester, the visionary Lake Keowee developer. It is a great community for those who want to "live on the lake”, but still have easy access to the shopping, dining, entertainment, medical services and recreational opportunities available in Seneca and upstate South Carolina. Additionally, residents are only a short drive away from many sightseeing opportunities including the picturesque Jocassee Gorges, which National Geographic calls “a destination of a lifetime” and one of “50 of the World's Last Great Places”. Many of the lots enjoy views of not only the lake, but also of the Blue Ridge Mountains off in the distance. While our community is comprised of both full-time and part-time residents, we do not have the problems potentially associated with short term rentals because the covenants governing the properties in White Oak Cliffs expressly prohibit property rentals of less than 90 days. The White Oak Cliffs Association, the neighborhood homeowners’ association, hosts monthly “Sunday Socials” in the summertime, where neighbors chat and catch up on goings-on.
